The orthodontic profession provides me the opportunity to give back to my community and hopefully affect the lives of many in positive ways. Our patients are the best! Each day is so rewarding because of the relationships and interactions I have with patients and their families. I hope to provide each patient with a beautiful smile and a positive outlook on life that doesn’t end when they leave my office but will continue with them through all aspects of their lives.
The education I received has given me a strong foundation to build a practice focused on providing excellent patient care. I went to Brigham Young University for my undergraduate degree and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. While at Brigham Young University I also had the opportunity to play football for the Cougars which offered a unique opportunity to balance the demanding schedule of athletics and still perform at a high academic level. I continued on to Virginia Commonwealth University where I graduated with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery and then completed my Orthodontic Residency at Vanderbilt University.
Staying current with the advancements in orthodontics is extremely important to me. I continue my education through courses and seminars throughout the year so I can provide the highest quality treatments for my patients. I am also involved with numerous local and national organizations such as the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Colorado Dental Association, and the Metro Denver Dental Society.
I am originally from Virginia Beach, VA, and now live in Littleton with my wife, Leah. We have five beautiful children, Annie (15), Alyse (13), Madelyn (11), Kendell (7), and Jacob (5), who I love spending time with. Our pizza and movie nights have become a family favorite! I enjoy all outdoor activities including golf, tennis, and I have occasionally coached my girls in soccer.
Every month we encourage our patients to participate in the games, contests, or drawings.

These services provide opportunities for the patients and their families to be interactive with their treatment. It also allows easier communication between the practice and the patient. Such as email and text message appointment reminders. We care about your comfort and your time. Our caring and friendly team will always treat you with courtesy and respect. Our scheduling system ensures timely appointments to keep your visit and treatment on schedule.
The best patients are well-informed about their orthodontic treatment, and for that reason we thoroughly explain our treatment plan using digital X-ray images and computerized technology to show how your smile and bite will change through the course of treatment. We encourage you to ask questions and be involved! Parents are invited to join us in the bay if they would like to observe treatment in progress. We also stay in touch with your general dentist to keep them apprised of your treatment and progress.
Sometimes early intervention while your child’s mouth is still growing is necessary to eliminate the need for extractions or jaw surgery in the future, but at the same time it is important to not begin treatment too early so that your child does not spend more time than necessary in braces or other orthodontic appliances. That is why the American Association of Orthodontics recommends regular monitoring, beginning at age 7. Our office is happy to offer these observation appointments at no cost as a courtesy to our families with young children. Careful and consistent monitoring will help determine when the time is right to begin treatment, if it is needed at all!
I take care of all our patients’ intraoral procedures and lab work, and help out in the office wherever I am needed. I like getting to know our patients, learning about their interests, and making them feel comfortable in our office. Each patient is special and we treat them that way. We all celebrate our patients’ new smiles!
I am married to my husband, Steve, and we have two grown children, Cassi and Zach, and a Golden retriever named Dakota. In my free time I make fused jewelry and fused glass plates, make stained glass, and I love to garden. I also enjoy being involved in many church activities.

I love interacting with patients and getting to build relationships with them. Our office is full of friendly faces and we are always excited for all patients who come in and hope that we can make it a fun experience for them each and every time. Dr. Kurt is fun, knowledgeable, and positive.
